THE ULTIMATE TIP FOR A LONG-LASTING, DARK HENNA TATTOO

When getting a henna tattoo, the most important step is without doubt care after paste application . This care is essential for optimal, long-lasting results. One of my favorite tips, which makes my life so much easier, is the use of Hypafix dressings.

Hypafix is a medical bandage that can be bought behind the counter at a chemist's without a prescription. It must be applied to the tattoo once it's completely dry, otherwise you'll crush your design to the skin. Once the bandage has been applied, you can carry on with your day or even go to sleep without fear of damaging the paste, which remains well protected underneath.

As natural henna pigment takes several hours to develop, we recommend keeping the paste on the skin for up to 8 hours. The bandage thus becomes a precious ally in prolonging the paste's hold and optimizing color intensity.

However, there are a few important contraindications to be aware of:

  • If you are allergic to medical glues or dressings in general, this method is not recommended.
  • Hypafix dressings are not water-repellent, so it's vital not to get them wet. Otherwise, the paste may run and stain the skin.
  • It's best to avoid using Hypafix if you're planning an activity afterwards that will cause you to sweat profusely on the tattooed area, otherwise the design may move under the bandage and stain the skin.

In short, when using Hypafix, it's best to stay calm, cool and dry to ensure a beautiful end result.
