HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JAGUA TATTOO?
Jagua is a somewhat different product from henna. Although it is applied in the same way, its composition differentiates it by its gel texture. The care associated with this type of temporary tattoo is therefore slightly different.
How to prepare for your appointment
- Making sure all our daily chores are done (showering, washing up, cleaning, etc.). Jagua is a relaxing art, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the present moment.
- If you're planning to book a manicure or pedicure, it's important to have it done BEFORE your henna tattoo appointment, so as not to damage the tattoo and preserve its lifespan.
- We recommend shaving or waxing the area to be tattooed. Hair will interfere with the application of the jagua and the final result will not be optimal.
- Do not apply any products to the area to be tattooed. Moisturizers and greasy products interfere with the penetration of henna into the skin.
- It is advisable to exfoliate the area to be tattooed, so that there is no dry skin. The jagua disappears as quickly as the skin cells die and fall off.
How do I care for my jagua tattoo?
- Please take care to protect your tattoo from damage. Medical adhesive tape (Hypafix) will be provided at the appointment, to hold and protect the jagua gel on your skin.
- Remove bandages after 4 hours and clean with plenty of soap and water. It's essential to remove the gel completely, so that it doesn't stain the rest of your skin. At first, the tattoo will be almost invisible on the skin - this is normal. The jagua takes 12h to 24h to reach its final color.
- If you sunbathe, be sure to protect the tattooed area. Sunburn will shorten the life of your tattoo.
- Avoid rubbing and scratching your tattoo.
- Moisturize your tattoo regularly.
