HOW DO I TAKE A JAGUA ALLERGY TEST?
Although jagua is a product made from natural ingredients, it's not impossible to react to it. As mentioned in my previous article on allergic reactions to jagua, the base of this pigment comes from a Peruvian fruit, so it can cause skin reactions ranging from inflammation to itching, 10 to 14 days after application. That's why it's important to carry out an allergy test before getting involved in large-scale tattooing with jagua.

Once you've received your cones, here are a few simple steps to follow:
- Select a spot on your body where it will be easy to follow the progress of the test and where you'll be comfortable having a little blue dot for 2 weeks.
- Remove the pin from the jagua cone. Place the tip on your skin and gently squeeze out the jagua.
- Once the stitch is formed, let it air-dry, being careful not to snag. It may take 30 minutes to dry completely.
- Clean the spot with cold water and soap after 4 hours.
- The test point should appear 10-15 hours after application. If after 2 weeks you have no reaction, it's almost certain that you're not allergic.
Allergies can occur on an ad hoc basis at any time in our lives, so even after the first application, it's not impossible that you'll react to the second or even fourth application, but these are fairly rare situations. A test application goes a long way towards reducing the risk of reactions.
